It is funny to me how a song can flood your brain with memrories. On the way home from class tonight a song came on that took me back to high school. I could remember exact memories with friends when this song came on (half the time I can't remember what I did yesterday). Once those memories started flowing, I started wondering about decisions that people have to make in life. Some people I know that were a big part of the memories have chosen to take a less responsible path in life and use drugs, and make excuses of why they are the way they are. While others that had very similar, and sometimes worse upbringings have done the exact opposite, and been a productive member of our society. When this song came on tonight, I was immediately taken back about 12 years to me driving my 1993 cavalier with friends and blaring the radio. Life was so much easier at that time. Even thought it was easier then, I had already made a decision that would lead me to the road I am traveling now. I could not imagine doing things different, but I often wonder what would be had I made just one decision differently.

  1. I love how songs can take you back. There are very few things that can take you back like a song. Sometimes a scent can do that but the memories don't seem as vivid.

  2. I wish the songs I had running through my head were a little less from my young children's year end programs and a little more from the radio. Thanks for reminding me of the power of volume, so I cranked it up...take that "Days of the Week" song. Incidentally, all interested are welcome to attend preschool graduation next Wednesday. There will be cookies, and of course, the "Days of the Week" song performed by a gaggle of adorable toddlers. Contact me for more information.

  3. I enjoy music and it's funny because we would take a vacation each year and before we left for the trip we would purchase a CD. Now when I hear certain songs it reminds me of trips in the car traveling through the mountains of Colorado. Brings back wonderful memories.
